The Boondocks - Season 2 Episode 2

The second episode opens with Tom and Sarah at a restaurant celebrating their birthday. They get into a “polite” argument because Tom won’t have a second drink of wine (the anal rape thing gets brought up again).

In comes Usher. Sarah, for the first time that night, suddenly perks up, fixing her make up and in a flirtatious manner, waves Usher over and gets his attention. Upon seeing Sarah smile, Tom begins to sing the song “Sarah Smile”. She’s obviously embarrassed and tries to get him to cease but alas, can not.

However, when Usher comes over to talk, he sings the exact same song. Sarah swoons, complete with everyone giving him a standing ovation, making Tom instantly feel bad.

Sarah then spends the rest of the night speaking with Usher–right in front of Tom, completely ignoring him. They discuss this incident on the way home and angry, Sarah gets out of the car and walks home.

Tom goes to the Freeman’s to get advice on what to do. This, however, gets Tom kicked out of the house and he and Sarah split up. He becomes a wreck and ironically, sings an Usher song to go with his feelings.

He then gets advice from everyone else, most of which isn’t helpful at all (Hue simply says that statistically speaking, the marriage was doomed anyway). He speaks with Jasmine, trying to apparently explain whats going on so that she won’t be upset or worried but it’s more than obvious she rather likes the idea of Usher being her new daddy–even for a little while, which in turn, makes Tom feel worse. (She even goes as far as to lightly persuade him to stay at the Freeman’s insisting the room is nice.)

Grandpa wants him out of the house, so he hires (with Tom’s credit card) A Pimp Named Slickback to assist.

Pimp Named Slickback pretty much ask Tom about Sarah in his limo and through a series of sequences, it’s made clear that while Tom thinks everything is great, Sarah is very unhappy or bored.

He tries to, for lack of a better word, how to treat women like a pimp might. (Complete with a scene where Tom role plays with one of his hoes.)

When Tom finds out that Sarah is meeting up with Usher soon, he decides to go and bust up the little party, APNSB assisting and going with him, along with the hoe that was helping them.

He screams at Sarah, calling her the B word and telling her to get in the car, to which she doesn’t take seriously at first and then seems outright confused on why he’s acting this way.

But when it comes time to ‘put a b in their place’–in other words smacking them around–he hits Usher instead, insisting that Usher can’t have his wife.

…Only to learn that the reason why she was there was so that Jasmine could meet Usher, who proceeds to blow the entire thing out of proportion. (Complete with accusing Tom of trying to assassinate Usher). Usher and the two body with him, then proceed to beat the crap out of Tom, with Sarah insisting that they stop and not hurt–and Jasmine still apologizing and fretting over Usher even though her father is getting beat down.
